[toc]As people’s attention turns to football, Pennsylvania casinos are enticing players with pigskin-themed promotions in September, from contests for the best game predictions to giveaways based on how the “home team” does.
In addition, gamblers have shots at winning cars or earning entries to offbeat games offering shots at big cash payouts.

Countdown to kickoff
Football prognosticators have a chance to win up to $1,000 in free slot play each week from Sept. 4 to Dec. 31. Participants may visit any kiosk daily to get an entry card. Entries, including a prediction for every NFL game plus a tiebreaker of the total points scored in a specified game, are due by 11 a.m. Sundays (9 a.m. on Sept. 24, Oct. 1, Oct. 22 and Oct. 29).
The top 10 predictors get prizes. A Mohegan Sun representative said that in previous seasons, the weekly winner seldom has more than one game wrong.
Lucky 7 Saturdays
The casino will award more than $300,000 in prizes on Saturdays in September. From 2 to 9:56 p.m., one winner every seven minutes will receive $777 in free slot play. In the weekly grand-prize drawing at 10:03 p.m., one person will get $7,777 cash. Winners are chosen from players actively playing a slot machine or table game at the time of the drawing.

15X Penny Rewards
On Sept. 25, Mount Airy Players Club members playing a penny slot machine will earn 15X points. Earned rewards will be deposited within 24 hours.
$1 MILLION ZOOMBALL
Players can win a chance to play Zoomball for prizes ranging from $50 in free slot play to $1 million cash. Slot players get one entry for every 777 points earned between 6 a.m. Sept. 11 and 7:45 p.m. Sept. 15. Players can also earn entries for each jackpot of at least $1,200 or each buffet purchase.
From 2 to 10 p.m. Sept. 15, five people will be chosen every 30 minutes to play Zoomball, a mechanical game that pops balls into a chute. The number of colored balls in the chute determines the prize.

Southern Italian wine dinner
A five-course meal with a wine-pairing for each course will feature the flavors of Southern Italy at 7 p.m. Sept. 15 at Parxgrill. The dinner, under the direction of Executive Chef Frank Perko, costs $95 per person. The menu includes:

- Braised short rib with seared foie gras and fresh berries
Parxtown board game
The top prize in this card-collecting contest is $50,000 cash, and more than $1 million in free slot play will also be awarded. A player becomes eligible for a Parxtown game card by earning 40 entries on any day from Sept. 4 to 22.
The maximum is three cards per day, except on Sept. 22, when players may earn up to six cards. Preliminary drawings will be on Saturdays in September and October. The best and worst predictors of NFL games win in this Presque Isle Downs promotion kicking off Sept. 5 and lasting through Dec. 31. Players must earn 10 tier points to activate a game card for the week. Then they can make their weekly NFL game predictions.
