Unibet sportsbook PA has wacky wagers for US Open

Golf is almost an afterthought now.

So maybe it’s time to get a little crazy. Mix things up. Try out something new.

The NBA and NHL playoffs are raging, baseball is hitting its home stretch and the NFL kicked off its season last week.

So maybe you’re not thinking about golf. But the US Open tees off Thursday at 6:50 a.m. at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, New York. And with a major tournament on tap, it certainly demands your attention. And perhaps a few wild bets as well.

Unibet Sportsbook is playing its part, providing a number of intriguing wagers for the upcoming major, including the tournament’s top-scoring lefty.

Let’s take a look at some US Open betting options — including the wild ones — available at Unibet Sportsbook and some of the other PA betting apps across the region.

DJ is tournament favorite; Mickelson expected to be the best lefty

Dustin Johnson, who has played pretty well throughout this disrupted PGA season, is favored to capture the US Open crown at +750. Jon Rahm, who recently defeated DJ in a playoff at the BMW Championship last month, is +850.

But some of Unibet’s other wagers are even more interesting.

The sportsbook has an available wager under the Predictions: Performance category on which left-handed golfer will finish with the best score. Phil Mickelson, who has earned the nickname “Lefty,” is the favorite in that group at +175. Bubba Watson is +225, followed by Brian Harman (+250) and Robert MacIntyre (+550).

Another fun bet focuses on the tournament’s top-scoring past champion, which includes a lot of big names. Johnson again leads that list with pricing of +175. Rory McIlroy is next at +400, followed by Webb Simpson at +500 and Justin Rose and Tiger Woods at +750. Last year’s champion, Gary Woodland, is +1200, followed by four others on that list.

If you’re interested in a more traditional bet, the tournament’s top 10 favorites are as follows:

  • Dustin Johnson: +750
  • Jon Rahm: +850
  • Justin Thomas: +1200
  • Xander Schauffele: +1400
  • Rory McIlroy: +1600
  • Collin Morikawa: +1600
  • Webb Simpson: +2200
  • Bryson Dechambeau: +2500
  • Daniel Berger: +2800
  • Patrick Reed: +2800

Unibet PA offering healthy menu of US Open wagers

As with every golf major, bettors can find a few more wagering options when the US Open tees off Thursday. Unibet has bets available on six different groups, other wagers based on the golfer’s nationality and a wide variety of scoring bets that include pars, eagles, bogies and even holes in one.

You can pretty much bet on just about anything during this weekend’s US Open. And if you’d rather visit a different sportsbook, BetRivers, PlaySugarHouse, DraftKings, FanDuel and Fox Bet will all have numerous offerings for the US Open as well.

DraftKings and FanDuel hosting big DFS contests for US Open

Daily fantasy players can also chase some big payouts during the US Open. The featured contest at DraftKings is a $100 entry Fantasy Golf Millionaire with a $2.5 million prize pool and a million-dollar payout for first. Another $10 entry contest has a first-place prize of $100,000.

Over at FanDuel, the $9.99 PGA Mega Eagle has a $300K prize pool and a top payout of $100,000.

And if you need help building lineups, these previews from the PGA Tour and DraftKings Nation might be a good place to start.

US Open will be broadcast on the Golf Channel and NBC

And so the US Open, golf’s second major this summer, will tee off Thursday morning in the middle of possibly the most packed sports calendar we’ve ever had. The early action will air on The Golf Channel each day, with the television coverage shifting to NBC each afternoon.

Perhaps golf is almost an afterthought now.

But with a major tournament taking place, there’s plenty of action to be found, especially with so many wild wagers in play at Unibet.

So maybe it’s time to get a little crazy. Mix things up. Try out something new.

You’ll have a perfect chance to do all that soon.
