The Mega Millions jackpot is an estimated $164 million ($134.7 million cash option) on Tuesday, April 21. When the jackpot hits again, the amount will reset to $20 million rather than $40 million.

The April 17 drawing had winning numbers of 13 – 35 – 39 – 46 – 55 megaball 14 with a megaplier of 4x. The megaplier is $1 to add to any ticket and multiplies non-jackpot winnings by the factor that is drawn.
A player in Maryland knows that well. That ticket matched all five white balls and won $4 million with the megaplier in play. Another ticket had the exact same numbers and won $1 million, with no megaplier. Still a healthy payout by any account.
Eleven tickets matched four white balls and the megaball to win $10,000 but two of them quadrupled it to $40,000.
