Eight WSOP bracelets awarded in PA online poker bracelet series

The 2022 WSOP PA Online Bracelet series ran from June 5 to July 17, featuring eight events over seven weekends during that time. All eight winners were Pennsylvanians, and they were all first-time WSOP bracelet winners

While online poker in Pennsylvania is only accessible within state lines, players from eight other states appeared at final tables throughout the series.

In total, the eight events resulted in $750,910 in total prize pools. The second half of the series was a bit smaller than the first half, presumably due to a combination of higher buy-in events and plenty of Pennsylvanians making their way to Las Vegas during that time for the 2022 WSOP Main Event.

Wexler headlines list of winners

With over $1.1 million in career earnings and five WSOP Circuit rings, Southampton’s Jonas Wexler was no stranger to some of poker’s biggest moments.

He had also won events in Parx Big Stax and Venetian Deepstack Extravaganza series, but the coveted WSOP bracelet had eluded him until just a few short weeks ago.

On July 3, Wexler topped a field of 171 entries in Event #5: $500 Deepstack to get the bracelet monkey off his back after having recorded over 50 career WSOP cashes (and another 36 circuit cashes) dating back to 2006. He also earned $19,615 for his performance.

A week later, Wexler nearly went back to back, finishing as the runner-up in Event #6: $1,000 Online Bracelet Championship out of a field of 122 for another $19,314.

Another bracelet, another celebration

Alex “Schwibbs” Schwint was on the winning side of the heads-up match with Wexler in the Online Championship event, earning a career-high $27,055 to go alongside the gold bracelet and a seat to the 2022 WSOP Tournament of Champions, a $1 million freeroll for all WSOP bracelet and circuit ring winners during the 2022 WSOP season that just wrapped up in Las Vegas.

Schwint has just one live score of $515 from back in 2019 on his resume, but has taken to the online streets in 2022 with nine cashes that also include two circuit rings to go along with his bracelet. After winning the bracelet, he showed off his jewelry collection on Twitter while adding a bit of lighthearted commentary to go with it.

Ryan Messick nearly goes back to back

Reports from the Tournament of Champions confirmed that Ryan Messick of Lansdale, PA binked his first bracelet in the final PA bracelet event (for $24,300) in the wee hours of July 18 before hopping a flight to Vegas to play in the TOC. No sleep didn’t slow him down as Messick made it to the final table and ultimately took third place for $100,000.

To make the story even more impressive, Messick nearly won his first bracelet in the previous PA online event, finishing second in the $777 Lucky 7s for $12,679.

2022 WSOP PA Online Bracelet series list of winners

In total, the eight events on the schedule yielded 1,150 unique entrants. All eight events allowed for either two or three re-entries, resulting in 1,498 total entries.

August Circuit should be announced soon

With the 2022 online circuit and bracelet series both in the rearview, we are in a period of “hurry up and wait” for the next online WSOP announcement.

So far, WSOP.com has run online circuit events in each of its markets (PA, MI and NV/NJ) every month through 2022. No dates have yet been announced for August, but we expect that to change before the end of July.

As such, keep an eye out for the next chance to win a WSOP circuit ring from the Keystone State. We will be sure to let you know when a schedule has been released.
