Sidney Crosby 500th goal special

The Pittsburgh Penguins return to play after the All-Star Break on Feb. 8 against Boston.

On the DraftKings sportsbook app, under the “NHL” tab on “trending top picks” you’ll find “Crosby 500th Goal Special” which is where you can bet on which team Sidney Crosby will score his 500th regular-season goal. Crosby currently has 498 goals.

Here is the upcoming Penguins schedule to give an idea of when Crosby might notch his 500th goal.

DraftKings started offering the Crosby prop on Jan. 31, and since then, 25% of the money went to the Feb. 1 Washington Capitals game as the date Crosby would score his 500th goal.

According to a representative from DraftKings, the next game receiving the highest handle (22%) is when the Penguins host the Philadelphia Flyers on Feb. 15,  followed by their Feb. 10 game in Ottawa (19%).

The Pittsburgh Penguins (27-11-8) are currently in third place in the Metropolitan Division. The Pittsburgh Penguins opened the 2021/2022 NHL season +2500 to win the Stanley Cup but some sportsbooks had them priced lower around +2100. To win the Eastern Conference, they were priced between +1100 to +1300 depending on the sportsbook.

500 goals adds to Crosby’s resume

The first overall pick in the 2005 NHL Draft, Crosby has spent his entire career with the Penguins.

Some of his notable accomplishments:

  • The youngest recipient of Art Ross Trophy
  • Won three Stanley Cups (2009, 2016, 2017)
  • Scored the game-winning overtime goal in the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver to win the gold medal for Canada. Won a second gold medal in 2014 in Sochi, Russia.
