Three more wins.

That’s all it will take to deliver another championship to Philadelphia.

And sure, Major League Soccer didn’t have a traditional season. Perhaps it’s not the same as a Super Bowl win or a World Series victory, but a soccer title for the Philadelphia Union would still mean something.

And the team is getting closer to that triumph with every game.

Next up is a quarterfinal match in the MLS is Back tournament with Sporting KC at 8 p.m. Thursday on ESPN.

The winner moves on. The loser heads home. And there are only two more rounds left.

So the game should have plenty of energy and excitement. And a wager on the outcome may help you feel a little piece of it yourself. Let’s take a look at the MLS betting odds for Thursday’s game before the action begins.

Philadelphia Union are sizable underdogs in the quarterfinal match

BetRivers Sportsbook, PlaySugarHouse and DraftKings Sportsbook have Sporting KC as a strong favorite in Thursday night’s game. Kansas City is +114 on the moneyline, while Philadelphia is +205. A tie is +270. The game’s over/under is set at 2.5.

FanDuel Sportsbook has priced Philadelphia at +200 and Sporting KC at +105.

Sporting KC advanced to the quarterfinals on penalty kicks (3-1) after recording a 0-0 tie with Vancouver in the Round of 16. Prior to that, Kansas City went 2-1 in pool play to advance. Philadelphia has reached the quarterfinals after going 2-0-1 in pool play and defeating the DC United 1-0 in the Round of 16.

Sportsbook betting options include goal scorers, props and interval wagers

If you’re looking to add a little extra sizzle to the MLS quarterfinals, PA sportsbooks have plenty of odds posted. Wagering options include half-time/full-time lines, alternate game totals and first and last goal scorers.

BetRivers, PlaySugarHouse and DraftKings have Philadelphia forward Kacper Przybylko as the favorite to be the game’s first goal scorer at +500. He has identical odds to score the game’s last goal.

Sporting KC forward Daniel Salloi is next in line at +550. Fellow KC forward Alan Pulido is +550, and Union forward Andrew Wooten and midfielder Sergio Santos are +650.

Odds are available on a number of other players that would provide an even bigger return.

Daily fantasy contests for Thursday’s game

DraftKings has provided a steady stream of contests for the MLS is Back tournament and should do so once again Thursday night. Typically, the daily fantasy provider has showdown contests tied to each MLS game. Players must pick a captain who receives 1.5 points and then five other players who accrue traditional daily fantasy points.

Showdown contests for Thursday’s action should be posted long before kickoff arrives, so stay tuned.

Philadelphia sports will be loaded in a few days, but for now, the Union are front and center

The Philadelphia Phillies are missing a few games this week due to COVID concerns. They are slated to return Saturday with a double-header vs. the Blue Jays. The 76ers and Flyers will restart their seasons soon. But for a few more days, the Philadelphia Union will grab a little more attention.

And with a few more victories, they’ll get even more.

It all continues Thursday night with the MLS is Back tournament quarterfinals on ESPN.

Three more wins, that’s it, and the Union are MLS Champions.

That sure would be something.
